They can cause a substantial nuisance through their blood feeding habit. At this time we have the worst infestations of bedbugs since the 1940’s. Bedbugs enter your home, or business premises, undetected on bags, luggage, clothing, used furniture, beds and settees. They have a flattened body which allows them to fit in tiny spaces and gaps. The bed bugs parasites live in groups and cluster together in hiding places, on bed frames, head boards and mattresses, cracks in skirting boards and bedside table. These little devils are great hiding, they are normally approximately 90cm from your bed whilst you sleep and bite you at night. When you have an infestation of bedbug parasites you can find little dark brown/redish spots and can soon spread to other rooms or flats
Bedbugs are active at night. They love to feed on you whilst you are asleep. They pierce the skin with an elongated beak or straw. They generally do this 3 times so you end up with bites in clusters of three. Once full the bedbug retires to its hiding place. The female bedbug lays 2 to 3 eggs per day. Since they live for many months they can lay 400 to 500 eggs during their life time. The eggs are laid all round their living area and food source – which is you! The bedbugs are born as little bloodsucking devils and feed on you as soon as they can. As they grow they shed their skins like spiders. This insect can soon take over your life or tenanted business if not treated. If you awake to itchy spots you didn’t have when you went to sleep you may have bedbugs, or even an unknown infestation of them.
